Re: Leicester... FFP Resolution

Yes, when you think about it a suspended fine would make sense and allow both sides to emerge from this fiasco with some dignity. My concern is that if this happens the other clubs that have been punished will create merry hell.

Any predictions....

.....for the Florist game ? I think we'll give 'em a tawsing in revenge for the away rout. Smith and Smyth to start, putting us two up. Conor coming on second half to replace a tiring Smith and adding the third. 3-0 I reckon, oh and we'll freeze our nuts off.

Re: Leicester... FFP Resolution

Without muddying the waters further.....I imagine most of Sunderland's debt was racked up in the Premiership. This season's overspend ie debt would be the first of a rolling three year period so their day of reckoning is a way off yet. It's interesting though as the owner is effectively writing off...

Re: Leicester... FFP Resolution

The two clubs were in the same division at the same time, operating under the same set of rules, so of course they can be compared. You can argue that there were mitigating factors in our case, and I'm sure we've done that through the appeals process, but ultimately it was a situation of our own ma...

Re: Leicester... FFP Resolution

The Leicester situation seems all very hugger mugger - “no further statements will be made regarding this decision”. It would appear that the FL are prepared to adapt their position when it suits them whilst remaining stoney faced when it comes to QPR.

Re: Leicester... FFP Resolution

I'm a bit puzzled re the Leicester situation. I thought they are out of the jurisdiction of the EFL and could only be punished if they were relegated back into the Championship.

Re: Leicester... FFP Resolution

I can see now why our situation is taking so long to resolve. There is no way we should be paying ten times what Leicester did for the same crime. Hope our lawyers show the FL that our fine is totally disproportionate and settle for a lot less. If not we need to fight them all the way till they see...

Re: Leicester... FFP Resolution

I think they made a loss of over 20 million but most of it was shown to be on the academy and “promotions” whatever that means. I guess our loss was all transfers and wages so we copped it for the whole amount. As much as I hate FFP it's amazing how the owners just kept ploughing on knowing full wel...

Re: Pay at the BBC

Satch - I wasnt aware the BBC was costing the taxpayer anything. I though their funding was solely by the licence fee or perhaps selling the rights to programmes they own. Surely their period dramas would fetch a few quid overseas and box set sales etc? Wouldn’t that be marvellous but no, the BBC i...

Re: Match Thread: Sheffield United v Queens Park Rangers FC

People used to say that if a side was very poor away from home it indicated a lack of character in the team. This team, however seems to be full of fight so it must be due to tactics and team selection.

Re: Match Thread: Sheffield United v Queens Park Rangers FC

All in all, sounds like a decent show. Hopefully, Smyth will start against Florist and Robinson will be back - not too badly injured by all accounts. Chins up !

Sheffield

Anyone give us a chance against Chef United ? A tough game but I fancy us for a draw. Holloway is conservative with a small c, so I reckon he'll retain Washington ahead of Smyth and be rewarded with a goal from him. 1-1.
