Re: General Election

Views on Corbyns performance last night? Did ok on the IRA questions I thought...but still a cloud over the quotes made. Not sure you young will give two hoots tbh. Nothing yet from Sheepy, so Mr Corbyn must've handled the session quite well as you say. Expect things to get pretty unpleasant in the...

Re: General Election

Tucked away in the less read parts of the Labour manifesto is a pledge to review the situation regarding the protection of local pubs. Blimey, I didn't think any of 'em had been in a pub. "I would give all my fame for a pot of ale and safety" - Shakespeare. Then of course he went on to manage Leices...

Re: General Election

According to my rag, the current poll ratings would result in a Tory win but with a majority of only two. IF Mrs May had waited, the boundary changes would have been in place making it even harder for Labour to win. However, the Tories will now concentrate on Mr Corbyn's achilles heel - security an...

Up before the QCs

Isn't it tomorrow that the club appears before the QCs ? Is anyone well versed enough in the law to tell us if this is the final appearance or is there a right of appeal ?

Will one of the QCs be Quentin Crisp ? No forget that

Re: General Election

As Shadow Home Secretary is Diane Abbott allowed to comment on security issues in light of recent events, or is her silence due to the suspension of electioneering? I haven't heard anything from her, has she made comment or do Labour have a gagging order on her? All politicians of all parties have ...

Re: Everton interested in Josh Bowler?

Just makes me sick, whats the point in finding un-polished diamonds if you never get to see the finished article. Why even bother with an academy if the big boys just roll up with their cheque books and take all the best talent, who will probably just fade away in their reserve team somewhere!!! Ho...

Makes you realise we were lucky to get the chance for Manning to transition to the first team this season without someone pinching him first!

At the very least if Bowler goes there should be a massive sell-on clause and a player in return.
Ross Barkley ?

Re: General Election

I have to admit the BBC really went after Mrs May today. I guess the social care policy was very contentious. Proper carehomes need to be set up with qualified, well paid staff but the cost is immense. Shes just had a tought time by Andrew Neil on BBC1 @ 7pm. A very poor interview and she was on th...

Re: General Election

LBC is still pretty Right wing. The excellent James O'brien being the only saving grace. Well theyve been slating the Tory care U turn this afternoon. Joking apart, I do like to hear it sung. More by a choir or rugger fans than Cardiff I concede.

Re: General Election

Which poll is that, 222gers? sorry, I posted this in the pub after misreading a headline. 10/10 for honesty and humility. There but for the grace of God go all of us. Thanks Don, I'll have a couple of pints of Waddies in the Kings at Putney this lunchtime by way of penitence !
