Re: Mrs May

never said i was happy about it, but accept that the books need to be balanced........... Higher taxes on the high earners would be a more efficient way of balancing the books Yup. Even if it means their spending will have to fall which will reduce VAT receipts and possibly jobs. Either route is fi...

Re: Mrs May

But i am one of these people, and i am not complaining, so does that mean my voice should not be heard.............. I'll go out on a limb and suggest that you may be in a minority of public sector workers in being happy with your lot. Should your voice be heard above the majority ? never said i wa...

I work in the Public Sector and will accept a 1% all day long just to see Labour get a bloody nose, now they have been put back in their box lets move on and sort out the important stuff............... So it's not important for folk like nurses and firefighters to receive a decent pay increase afte...

Re: Mrs May

I worked in the public sector for over ten years and the deals very rarely exceeded inflation. But they do get free pensions. I left and moved on to betters things and others have that freedom too, although many I worked with are lucky to have a job and wouldn't survive in the real world. Nurses et...

Re: Mrs May

With inflation running at over 2% a 1% increase is actually a pay cut. Mrs May has been full of praise for the police at London Bridge and Borough Market and the firefighters at Grefell Tower not forgetting all the NHS staff who treated the victims.
A fitting reward do you think ?

Re: Mrs May

Andy Murray donated his winnings at Queen's to the Grenfell relief fund. Sadly he didn't win top prize. Fair play to him, he has made similar donations to charity in the past. well done Andy. We should see the government putting in more money now that Mrs. May has rediscovered the Magic Money Tree....

Re: Kensington & Chelsea council

Some astounding stories about these people, some too bizarre to be true ? The initial response was to give £10 ( yes, a tenner ), to those displaced by the fire. Also, because the council came in under budget last year they gave a £100 rebate on council tax, but only to the higher rate payers, the ...

Re: Mrs May

I see the financial markets and the CBI are complaining that the uncertainty of the present mess is very bad for the British economy. So what does May do ? Delay the Queen's speech adding a few more days of doom and pessimism for the British economy. Anyone know khow much, day by day, this is costin...

Re: Mrs May

Apparently over 15,000 people have joined the Labour Party since polling day. Amazing. I can't believe the Tories will keep Mrs May for long after the initial Brexit talks. You mean over 150,000 people have joined since polling day, and yes it is absolutely amazing. Labour must find ways of keeping...
