Re: Old Oak Common Update.............

The club has bought a few parcels of land at Old Oak and are able to build housing there. Hopefully the money made will go into the club!
Unfortunately the club does not own a piece of land large enough for a football stadium at Old Oak.

Re: Goodbye NHS?

Seven years into a Conservative government and the NHS is in financial difficulty. Who would have guessed! It happens every time the Conservatives are in government, but it still comes as a surprise to some people. Quite simply, our government spends less on health services than the French or the G...

Re: QPR help kick off Oaklands

The club owns smallish parcels of land at Old Oak, mainly on the fringes of the regeneration area - the Oaklands development is one of those fringes. Car Giant owns most of the land that will be developed in the first phase of major building there. The Development Corporation that has responsibility...

Re: Stadium Capacity

Every club every season has people who turn up for their first game. What makes QPR unusual is that very few of them come back again. The others do not play good football all the time, but most have stadiums that have leg room and better facilities than Loftus Road, and people come back. Many become...

Re: By Royal Appointment

So we have all this really positive community based stuff going on ... showing we are more than just a football club. But we can't get approval for a new football stadium which would allow us to do/ support those things even better. Hmmm. Well, at Old Oak we haven't had permission to build on someb...

Re: Hoos the boss

In simple terms of time zones, this makes sense. If Lee Hoos wants to make a decision at 5 he should not have to try to get approval from the Board at 1 in the morning in Malaysia. Obviously some transfer decisions may take place well past Tony's bedtime.

Re: Russian Hacking

Plenty of communists have hacked and spammed this site over the years 8) I know Sheepy is only making a joke, but he/she is just fighting a war that ended 25 years ago (the dissolution of the USSR). Mr Putin may have had his training in the Soviet system but he is now using his skills to support ri...

Re: Les Ferdinand

He's been an abject failure in the role which is unsurprising as he's no previous experience. Responsible for making a succession of poor managerial appointments, assembling a squad that can't get a shot on target at home, and getting rid of leaders like Hill and Faurlin. Incredible to think we wer...

They did bring a new momentum in things like peace activism and environmentalism. The 60s generation is still the most politically conscious of any that followed. I am delighted to see young people in the UK getting involved in the political debates of today so maybe that will change. dm - great po...

Re: Bob Dylan

Puzzling decision really, he's no Rumi after all, and his best stuff was 45 years ago which precludes people under 40 understanding the context of the songs. There are loads of brilliant writers/poets who should have gotten the award, who next, Iggy Pop or Morrissey? There are no songwriters of the...

Re: QPR launch campaign to improve atmosphere

And another thing. Season ticket holders' names were taken off the seats to save money. But money was found to give us all leaflets to tell us to cheer up. I wasn't all that worried about the name labels, but I know some people and specially kids liked them. But what's the point in saving money ther...

Re: QPR and the "long ball"

Nothing to do with the 'long ball' stats, but, why is the English on the HITC site so often weird? Run by numbers people. The English is not ungrammatical, but the sentences are unusually long, packed with subordinate clauses and more than a few unnecessary words, to a degree that indicates that th...

Cycle ride round London clubs

This seems a good cause if there are any keen cyclists out there. (Taken from the QPR1st site) Would you like to cycle around London’s football grounds on Sept 2, in support of the campaign to combat prostate cancer? If so, contact http://kevin.fitzgerald@thstofficial.com Starting at the Olympic Sta...
