Re: Just back....and the possible goal not seen....

Looking at the highlights it seems a closer game than the scoreline suggests and if our finishing was as clinical as theirs it may have been a different result. I don't feel quite as angry now and you have to admit their goals were well taken. Looks hard to say if the ball was over the line or not.

Re: Just back....and the possible goal not seen....

Isn't there goal line technology in the championship?

Re: Forever Rs

Glen Roeder, Simon Stainrod, Darren Peacock, Simon Barker, Ray Wilkins, Trevor Francis, Clive Wilson, David Bardsley....... the list goes on. And before people slate Wilkins and Francis, both were great players for us, if not managers.

Re: Wzsolek...

Going back to him playing the wing back role, the problem we have is that if he plays as an out and out winger then we have to change the formation and so have to play a right back meaning we lose someone further up the field. If we play one up front then what's the point of having a winger with no ...

Re: Carrying the ball over the line?

I thought they had goal line technology now in the championship after Ollie complained about the lack of it last year

Gerry Francis as a replacement?
Good shout. I'm sure Holloway needs some support and Fleming most likely provided that at times. So I hope we get someone in fast. If Clint Hill can be that person and provide that support then great. If not, then lets welcome Francis back.

Re: In, out, shake it all about....

I hope that Les/TF/Hoos or whoever come out and tell us what the plans are for the rest of the season and why it was decided not to buy or loan anyone in. We're all assuming it's due to the impending fine but the only way to get everyone 100% behind Ollie and the team/board is to be open and honest ...

Re: Is playing Freeman with Luongo/Scowen the problem?

Seems to me having a lone striker just doesn't work for us. None of ours are prolific enough and all seem to need to feed off another striker. A lone striker will always be out muscled by the defenders and so we'll lose possession unless the ball can be played to the midfield players. The midfield a...

Re: Transfer Rumour Thread: Jan 2018

Cousins is a very good central midfielder. Unfortunately we have an idiot manager who insists on playing him as a wing back. Can’t argue with that. I can defend Ollie for a lot & forgive him for a lot but Cousins at wingback is baffling! I'm sure Cousins was played at wingback because Holloway had ...

Re: Bristol City vs QPR

Just seen the Sky highlights and we had as many chances as them (5 each). So that's a small positive I guess

Re: Bristol City vs QPR

For some reason the depression when we lose is greater than the elation when we win, which is why probably more people vent their anger on here when we lose compared to love when we win. Probably the same as when you receive bad customer service you're more likely to moan about it and tell people th...

Re: Bristol City vs QPR

I doubt he was shocked Damien but disappointed, how many of us expected to get anything out of the last two games? The gulf in quality is large. I am not saying Holloway is blameless. For me when you play a superior team then you press them hard and try and do them with pace which we obviously have...

Is playing Freeman with Luongo/Scowen the problem?

Ok, before I get shouted down I'll state I don't get to see many games and I'm no expert when it comes to tactics and formations, but it seems to me that Luke Freeeman is the first name on the team sheet each week - and rightly so. But to play him we need Luongo a Scowen in that midfield trio to do ...

Re: Quick question

Personally I blame Richard Thompson. Yes the club was well run (compared to today) and was profit making, but to not really improve the playing staff and sell Darren Peacock/piss off Gerry Francis was a mistake which we've never recovered from. Both down to him I believe. As for Wilkins, didn't he g...
