Re: Choosing my kids footy team?

I worked to a very simple ethos - they could choose whether they wanted to be interested in football or not but if they were going to support a team and live in my house then it would be QPR! My daughter (Jo) wasn't interested for quite a while and I left her to follow her other intersts but her you...

Re: Match Thread: Wolverhampton Wanderers v Queens Park Rangers FC

Two silly goals especially the first. I can only think that Ned thought the player in front of him was going to get a touch. Don’t try and put any logic into Neds game, it will hurt your brain. I can only presume neither of you played in central defence as Ned was in the correct place in my book - ...

Re: Curtis Fleming leaves for middlesboro

Personally I hope we can find someone who is able to bring new ways of thinking and development to the squad, and that probably means has no previous connections with the Club and can start with a clean sheet with new ideas and methods.

Re: Today

I reckon about 11,000-ish which includes 5-600 Barnsley fans. Lots of season ticket holder seats empty around me in SAR. So 10.5k Rs turned up which is worrying but not entirely unexpected. Great, great result and thanks to Scowen for the only bit of quality in a p.isspoor game - it was an awesome ...

Re: Today

12,400 and that’s a figure that includes all season ticket holders being in attendance, so it could be less than that. I reckon about 11,000-ish which includes 5-600 Barnsley fans. Re: Bruno Andrade

This is how Brentford do it. http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2718752-brentfords-moneyball-way-to-beat-football-teams-with-huge-budgets Fascinating! Read it when it first came out and again now. We could learn an awful lot from what they're doing. I hadn't seen this before but what a good article...

I start to wonder if that's part of the problem a...

Re: Luke Freeman

This is interesting. We've been critical of Holloway for not playing wingers and saying Smith in particular would benefit from crosses but these figures suggest a fair amount of crosses from Freeman alone. The point this doesn't take into account is what counts as a cross - the angle of delivery is...

Re: If we are where we are

If we have "a great cup heritage" since the 3:2 West Brom how come we've never bothered since? er - have you forgotten the Milk Cup Final against Oxford - admittedly a poor performance in the final but we did well to get there - and of course the FA Cup Final against Spurs where, if Clive Allen had...

I'm OK with the latest from the polit bureau but 'injuries galore' is stretching it a bit. I don't call two players (Cousins and Hall) galore.

Re: A poor last minute choice....

Can’t argue with much of that, but what has changed between the epic come back win last week & the customery drab cup exit this week that has got everyone calling for Ollies head? The result? It was Holloway’s 30th loss in 61 games. That’s an appalling record. Or could it be that those who were not...

Re: Never a penalty

He was poor. Very poor indeed. But I assume he's less poor now than he was. The cheque from Bristol now having cleared his account. That is libel ssh - but then again as someone said at the game "at least we know what happened to that £400 bottle of wine now!" Having watched the penalty over and ov...

Re: Someone has to ...

Seems determined to rush Hall back in. He was poor today apparently when he came on, but Scowen was little better and can count himself lucky not be replaced instead of Freeman. Bit worried about Scowen's form at present. Hope he's not yet another one who flatters to deceive. Pav seems to be gettin...

Re: Someone has to ...

Those that were callng for Sylla to be selected will see why the manager has little faith in him. He often seems to be going through the motions then moaning and carping at his teammates for not delivering pinpoint passes, a bit like Cisse used to do. I think Freeman told him to shut up a few times...

Re: pre-Birmingham

Its 11.21 as I write this and Birmingham is only about one hour travelling time away. I thought about going today and then thought "no don't be daft, we'll lose 0-2 and I'll come home feeling more depressed than I do now". Its a very sad state of affairs that I should feel like this, but having wat...
