Re: It says everything that ...

Must admit I didn't realise that stat - all the more surprising, since we're the same position in the goalscoring table (18th) as we are in the league. So Freeman's assisted a third of our goals - that's actually rather scary! Allow me to re-visit my assessment. The man's a star of a Venusian comple...

Re: Match Thread: Birmingham City v Queens Park Rangers FC

I suppose Conor is in the side as part of the “pressing” game in parallel, until his red card, with Jamie Mackay. But as you say we need goals from him and they don't look like coming. It's tempting to think of Sylla and Smith starting up front with a decent wide man to supply crosses. I remain mas...

Re: It says everything that ...

Yes, it says that we have a fantastic player on our hands, and the manager deserves credit for helping him to develop into one of the best CBs in the division. It would be nice if the manager exhibited the same Midas touch with, ooh let's start with, JET, Washington, Caulker and Mackie, would it not?

Re: It says everything that ...

What a charming man you are - let's have a glass of port sometimes, should we? All I did was venture a view that Freeman shines moderately brightly from time to time, largely because our midfield is essentially fairly mediocre, and certainly over-rated by some as it stands, imo. Though it may well i...

Don't forget the creater Freeman, once again proving how vital he is to us.
Well, by default, I'd suggest. It would be nice if one of the midfield just occasionally popped up with a goal.

Re: Match Thread: Birmingham City v Queens Park Rangers FC

To me, it epitomised his inadequacy at this level, and he did look suitably ashamed. All this talk about 'pressing' and 'working the channels' is rubbish if it doesn't actually lead to anything productive with him, which it mostly doesn't. He's like a poor man's Emile Heskey, if that's possible. Sad...

Brum highlights

http://www.skysports.com/watch/video/11173673/birmingham-1-2-qpr Lovely winner from Jack. Awful fumble from Smithies for their equaliser, and a shocking shank from Washington. A couple of off-target headers. Job done. Lord knows, we needed that. Let's hope we can rain - or at least drizzle - on Briz...

1-1! Sorry for tempting fate, one and all.

We might still win, but, equally, you wouldn't bet your house against us going down 2-1.

Re: Match Thread: Birmingham City v Queens Park Rangers FC

To sound a positive note, as the table stands right now, there's only three points separating us in 18th from Brentford in 13th. Win today, and we should be looking up the league again, instead of into the relegation trapdoor.

We get a second early doors, and you wouldn't see Brum recovering. Mind you, this is Rangers.

One positive so far this season he's been superb since his return.
Well, mostly. Did cost us the first goal at Forest (when bawled out by Scowen).

Re: Match Thread: Birmingham City v Queens Park Rangers FC

That's a given, carrotstick - I'd say it's the worst Rangers side since Gerry Francis, in his second incarnation, jumped ship in 2001 before we dropped down into the third tier. But our extremely poor team has an extreme need to not go on being the club in all four divisions with the longest run of ...

pre-Birmingham

I see Mr Ian is saying the boys feel they've not been getting their just desserts during our depressing recent run, not to mention our horrendous record on the road. Really? I was there in the 0-4 capitulation at Forest, and, if they were hot knives, we were the obliging blue and white butter. At De...
