Re: How the other half lives

His North Korean half-brother, Un-Shaw, is also tipped to defect to LR this window.

Re: Spack?

The one that pisses me off is the football industry's weird transmutation of the phrase 'to be fair' to mean something like, just, 'to be honest', when it is actually a piece of signposting language used to introduce a positive balancing comment in the wake of criticism that would otherwise be perce...

Re: Quick question

Great goal, but my main memories of Dichio are of a lazy, sulky-looking, half-arsed R, whose professional career apps. and goal stats hardly burn his name into the record books. Mind you, that over-paid, ear-cupping tosser Hateley made him look like he sweated blood for the shirt.

Re: Transfer Rumour Thread: Jan 2018

All of the foregoing do point for me both to the bloated, frustrating and imbalanced complexion of our current squad. To wit, a lack of specialist attacking full backs, loan/playing issues with some younger players, our non-playing wide men/wingers, and that's before we get onto our goal-shy strike ...

Re: 10 points from the play offs

O behave, the lot of you! We're not getting into the top six, and don't deserve to. It's mostly a team of journeymen, with the odd bright spark - willing, but limited, inconsistent, and short of quality. I'll be delighted if this lot, and this manager, finish top half. Apologies if I sound like Osca...

Re: Do we sign a striker this month?

According to the stats I read, Conor's scored 12 goals in 78 games (including 29 sub) - less than one in six. Without wishing to piss on his chips today - when, to his credit, he seems to have actually both performed and scored for the first time in an aeon - for an international striker (even one w...

Re: Team vs Burton

It doesn't exactly scream goal fest, does it? Washington on the sidelines, now back in - so random! When did he last score a goal for us - 1485?

O well, come on you Rs etc.

Re: Scowen brainstorm

Sorry I forgot Smithies. So, let's keep Smithies, Smyth, Hall, Freeman and Scowen the engine. Maybe Baptiste for his experience. And Eze Chair, for the future. Can't say fairer than that. Smith - miss, miss, miss, miss, hit, miss miss miss, hit, miss miss miss etc. Sylla - impact sub at best, and no...

Re: Scowen brainstorm

OK - I'd keep Scowen, and he probably didn't throw the game, so that makes four. Woo hoo. (You seem unaware that my tongue may have been a touch in my cheek.) Though I stand by saying that a mistake like that might question some of us to question his football brain, rather than mine, which, unlike m...

Re: Scowen brainstorm

I like Ian, but it's true that his approach seems more and more one-eyed, just as you say. Any more of this, and he'll turn into a Cyclops!

Scowen brainstorm

After watching Scowen's aberration today, I can only conclude he suffered a partial seizure or was paid to throw the game. I'd really like to hear his explanation for what happened, but I'm sure we won't. Just to rub our noses in it, their League One striker finished with an aplomb you'd have to wat...

Re: Team vs MK Dons

We couldn't hit a barn door with a banjo today. By the way I'm not blaming Smyth or Eze, both have a lot more to offer than Washington/Sylla so no problems with the players themselves. You've gotta question the manager-ship of the club in general - this is beyond a joke now! Eh? If we couldn't hit ...

Re: Team vs MK Dons

Damien, Andy_19, qprray.... QPR defeat = Theme tune = Hello darkness my old friend.... It sounds like a Michael Nyman (big QPR fan by the way) composition (repetitive beat), it works perfectly with him but not if the crap that we have to endure is continuous, losses and reversals are expected, this...

Re: Team vs MK Dons

Eh? If we couldn't hit said threshold with said instrument, how is that not (partly if not mostly) the players' fault?
