Jimmy Armfield R.I.P

Sad news about Jimmy. It's a cliche I know, but he truly was a gentleman. Will miss his insights on the BBC as he was the only one I could really listen too. Savage and the rest just irritate me.

Re: Can anybody explain

Whatever it is... we don't seem to have them. As somebody "who know's nothing about football" and to whom all the talk of tactics in modern football bores me to tears - give me defenders who defend and wingers who wing 8)

Re: Three points

We should have enough about us to survive. Expecting to match the best in this league is setting yourself up for disappointment. If we had a decent striker and weren't so shaky at the back... life would probably be a bit easier. On the subject of the defence, we need to look at our defensive coach a...

Re: Anti depressants doctor

Quality counts unfortunately. The Championship is getting a bit like the Premier. We are a bottom six side IMHO - and if we finish top of that six... then job done. If we are going to seriously going to compete in this league, then we are going to need more quality next season. Too many L1 standard ...

Re: Transfer Rumour Thread: Jan 2018

Give young Furlong a run at RB. We have plenty of wingers who can do Pav's job. A good offer for him might be best for him and us.

Re: Quick question

Even in that season Wilkins was still our best in the middle. We've never really replaced him. Top player and one of my all timers - but yes he wasn't much lop as a manager.

Re: Just got back ...

I'd just about given up on Conor then he pops up with a goal and by all accounts a good all round performance. He has a heart like a horse and I hope this is not a false dawn but the start of something better. Sometimes he shows good touches like the way he brings down a high pass on his instep and...

Re: Transfer Rumour Thread: Jan 2018

We have quite a lot of defenders on the books. Anyone think we should be letting a couple go?Same with the wide players. Be interesting to see the squad at the end of this month.

Re: Do we sign a striker this month?

If the chance comes along to sign someone, we should. Of course that means we will need to let someone go. A bit of real experience upfront could be the making of some of our striking options.

With 19 games to play I think 6 wins, 6 draws and 7 defeats is likely which will put us on 57 points.

If we can finish 12th in the table and hit 60 points it should regarded as a successful season
That sounds about right to me Sheepy. Much nicer atmosphere on here too... which is nice 8)
