Re: Wheeler - operation (in house?)

Wheeler's the bloke who gets the oranges for 1/2 time isn't he ?

I'd like his money for doing what he's done for us thus far.....

Re: Spack?

I had a lot of time for Peter Beardsley... indeed I site him as the last exponent of the sliding tackle from the side, he was a Past Master at it... sadly a skill that Mr Blatter and his Leeches decided was too onerous to manage and cut it out from our game. Watching some You Tube excerpts from 1970...

Re: Spack?

What planet do footballers get educated on......? Listening to Talksport this morning to hear one of them get "them" instead of "their".... Most Championship players on Min £3K a week methinks and can't afford proper English lessons. If they ever watch / listen to the overseas players being intervie...

Re: Quick question

Didn't Thompson take his folding up to Hull, citing the way to own a club is to get one with a clearly defined catchment area, Hull, Leeds Newcastle all 1 club towns/city's.

Didn't get him very far, although I suspect he sold up shortly thereafter.

Re: Quick question

[/Great goal, but my main memories of Dichio are of a lazy, sulky-looking, half-arsed R, whose professional career apps. and goal stats hardly burn his name into the record books. Mind you, that over-paid, ear-cupping tosser Hateley made him look like he sweated blood for the shirt. quote] That's r...

Re: Quick question

That is really bugging me because I swear I watched Hateley against Brentford in a pre season friendly at Griffin Park & he also hit a bullet header just over, I bunked off work at about 11am boss let me go home sick, must have been 17yrs old but that would have been around year 2000, Hateley would...

Re: Quick question

It was around this time when we hooked up Wilkins old mate Hateley. I'm 100's years old so remember his dad being the Drogba equivalent of his day, bustling centre forward who must, surely have taught his son all he knew about heading the ball. Off we trudged to the pre-season @ High Wycombe and Hat...

Re: IJM's Pesky Prediction

mmmm, I think I need some serious medication... when we win, all is well with the club, it's turned the corner, good things happening, right people in place, youth coming through yesterday, when I saw the team I thought Holloway had lost his conkers....then we go and win :D when we lose, the whole s...

worth noting though, that's probably only the equivalent of a league 2 game "down here"
never over estimate "Jock Football" - shame that it ever got like that, but it maybe his level at this time

Re: Ian Holloway

Ollie moaned about the Ellerslie Road stand being closed which affected the atmosphere....That attendance was the reaction to the Brentford debacle earlier in the season and he helped close it IMO.... Yes exactly I was truly amazed that, the manager, and I guess with full support of the owners and ...

Re: Ian Holloway

yes, that's true 222gers,

some times it's a bit like watching a V8 engine running on 4 instead of 6

you know all the parts are there and it should surge away, but simply stutters and miss-fires.

Re: Ian Holloway

well - whilst I agree with most of the sentiments of previous posters of course the one thing IH doesn't have above all else is time. No time to fix injuries and no time to sit on more than 3 or 4 losses before toys go out the pram this is the crux of it as I'm sure Ramsey et al are busy coaching an...

Re: Scowen brainstorm

So there you are aged what, 6 or 7 around the park and your mate says " hit it out the park" when your playing 3 and In and you lose possession and they look like they're about to score, so put it out of range " you go get it ". By the time you get to big school, aged 12 or 13 even your PE teacher t...
