I think Furlong will play CB. It was his position youth wise. We have other youngsters who can play Right back.

I'm with Lala on this too. Don't necessarily think he'd be a terrible signing but we have been there and done that. Let's stick with bringing through younger talent, it got me excited again at the end of last season.

...honestly I don't know him very well, my fault being ignorant of most of the Premier, but it reminds me when he took
Richard Dunne from Villa....something similar, old, experienced player...but what a player, a huge presence in the box....
and voted best player at Wembley, in the Play-off final...

He may be a bit long in he tooth, but if he has kept himself fit... he is better than anything we have at CB. Not sure pace matters that much in this league. But we shouldn't upset our wage structure for him. If he wants to play for what the rest are getting... he may be worth a punt.

Ask the defenders facing Paul Smyth next season if pace matters.Damien wrote: ↑Mon May 21, 2018 4:17 pmHe may be a bit long in he tooth, but if he has kept himself fit... he is better than anything we have at CB. Collins isn’t fit enough to lace Robinson’s boots, or a fit Hall for that matter.

I'd take him, I suspect most prem players have a good football IQ which could easily rub off on some our future stars. He's had a good career, he deserves to reach the blue and white hooped pinnacle in his twighlight years. Upgrade on the Chief imho.

I was impressed by "Toto" Nsiala of Shrewsbury today. 26 with 230 league appearances under his belt. Former Everton youth player.

Dave Mc thinks Robinson won't be coming back so we do need a defender or three.
Peterborough have also made an announcement that they are not interested in taking Conor back.

I can see it being difficult to move Washington on. It may be one of the relegated clubs or perhaps newly promoted Rotherham might be interested at a knock down price, but of course, he's going to have to want to go.

That's a better shout than Rohan Ince. The other Shrewsbury central defender Beckles had a terrible game though!Esox Lucius wrote: ↑Sun May 27, 2018 5:48 pmI was impressed by "Toto" Nsiala of Shrewsbury today. 26 with 230 league appearances under his belt. Former Everton youth player.

Apparently was at the game yesterday: info from WATRB (but with photographic evidence!).
Get him in, make him captain.
(Could've been there as he is about to sign for Bristol City I spose but one lives in hope!)

The short term goal is .... to finish 21st or higher next May. Anyone who can shore up the defence and make us harder to beat will be most welcome. They only have to stay until May 2019. After that we can start to rebuild with longer term goals in mind.Satch wrote: ↑Sun May 20, 2018 3:06 pmTbh, i haven't seen the bloke play for ages, my gut feel is closer to 'lala's. Hill was quite a bit younger when he joined. Nelsen and Dunne a bit closer. All worked out much better than i expected but they were signed with short-term goals in mind.
Where we are now, I'd rather see us look to youth or if we're really short and worried about relegation, the loan market. Personally that feels like it makes more sense than players right at the ends of the careers.
