£75M. And to think they could have had Steven Caulker for, well we'll call it a round £50M. Suckers

Even Sol Bamba is better than him, according to Neil Warnock.

If Yannick Bolasie could go to Everton for £30m then Van Dijk is probably worth it.

However, I'm sure they were talking £60m in summer when Saints wouldn't sell?

Problem is, when an Arsenal or Man City begin to show interest too, Liverpool are caught in an arms race and have to invest quickly.

Anyway, football will eat itself. Just like the fall of many cultures from history. Some other sport or entertainment will fill the gap. Kids of the future will care not for Anfield and Wembley.

One day we will all be paying good money to watch people deserving of our money. People like nurses. Hang on a minute, you can pay to watch nurses already?

I'd love to see Saints income & expenditure over the last 10-15yrs, it would make for some mind blowing reading.

Also the Southampton to Liverpool conveyor belt is starting to get a bit fishy imo, I'm starting to question If it's just coincidence.

Interesting thought and could well become very true although I personally think that football will re-invent itself and become sane again.

Unfortunately it won't eat itself... more the shame. There will always be plenty of the vacuous types around - it's what Scudamore and Sky have built the "Monster" that is modern football on. Nurses and the ones who do the things that really matter will always be undervalued and taken for granted. That's uber Capitalism for you.

Without a doubt she's a seriously fantastic surfer but I'm not quite sure what she brings to Liverpool's defence?

My eyes fixed themselves to a certain part of that picture and as hard as I tried I couldn’t move them for around 30 seconds.

Agreed Damien, although should capitalism drive the world over a cliff, such as another economic crash or the looming environmental catastrophe of climate change, football as we know will go with it. What a terrible shame the beautiful game we feel in love with has turned into a monster as you say.
